Reintroducing Myself
Not as a title. Not as a job. But as a human with a story, and the moments that shaped me.

I grew up in the care system
Like many children in care, I carried a label that was never mine to hold.
Then I met my forever family, and everything changed.
(I was so excited to meet my new family that I put my slippers on the wrong feet!)

I am half South African and half British
Two cultures shaped the way I see humanity and community.
From South Africa came Ubuntu: “I am because we are”. It has stayed with me ever since.

Growing up, I heard things like…
- “You’ll never amount to anything”
- “You don’t need to do homework”
- “You’re lucky, I wish I was adopted…”
Those words stayed with me. But they didn’t define me.

Creativity changed everything
Storytelling gave me something I never had before: a voice.

The proudest day of my life
I graduated with a First-Class Honours Degree in Photography and Video, the first achievement I ever truly believed in.
I’d been told I would never amount to anything. That day, I realised something liberating: I can do hard things. I no longer live in a box.

Why this matters
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in recognising the people and opportunities that shaped my life.
Some of my birth siblings didn’t have the same chances. That’s why this matters.
Ubuntu
A Zulu word which means humanity.
“I am because we are.”
It fitted perfectly. This isn’t just a production company. It’s a place where stories matter.
Ubuntu isn’t about content
It’s about building community, opportunity, and growth.
The mission is simple: to help people find their voice through storytelling, especially those from the care system and anyone who didn’t have the best start in life.
I do that through film, books, podcasting, and mentorship.

If you believe in humanity, storytelling, and lifting others… welcome.
This is Ubuntu in motion.
Let's find yours
