Ethical Storyteller

Helping People Find Their Story

I help people and organisations uncover the stories within what they do, communicate them with confidence, and create meaningful connections with the people they want to reach.

What I do

Three ways to work together

Through talks, workshops, and films, I create opportunities for people to feel seen, heard, and empowered to share their stories in a way that feels authentic to them.

  • Talks

    Inspiring, connecting, and changing perspectives

A chance to share the power of storytelling, raise awareness, and inspire people to see their own experiences differently.

    For
Businesses, professional organisations, schools, charities, and community groups
  • Workshops

Building confidence and finding your voice

A more interactive and personal approach, giving people space to explore their stories, build confidence, and express themselves authentically, from the classroom to the pitch.

    For
Young people, schools, charities, community groups, and teams, including SMEs (small and medium-sized businesses)
  • Films

Preserving stories and creating lasting impact

Bringing stories to life, told by the people who live them, so they can be revisited and shared for years to come.

    For
Businesses, schools, charities, adoption services, and families

Stories like yours

Whether you're a school, a charity, a business, or one person with something to say — there's a story worth telling.

  • Business

I helped a transport organisation rebuild trust with its customers at a time when confidence in public transport had been rejected post-pandemic. Parents in particular had concerns about whether it was safe for their children to travel to school. The challenge wasn’t simply communicating information, it was understanding those concerns and finding a way to address them authentically.

  • Charity

Adoption can be an emotional and sometimes daunting experience for prospective parents.

  • School

I help young people find their voice and have the confidence to use it.

  • Business

I helped an organisation uncover the story within its own archive. The organisation already had years of photographs, footage and original material documenting its work. The challenge wasn’t a lack of content — it was knowing how to bring it all together and articulate the story those archives were telling.

  • Charity

Charities don’t usually lack stories. They often lack the time, space or confidence to uncover and communicate them.

  • School

I helped young people communicate their ideas more effectively.

How I work

Finding the stories already there

I help organisations find the stories that already exist within what they do.

  • 1

    I find the story

A conversation that draws out what makes you, your team, or your cause worth backing. The things you can't see because you're too close to them.

  • 2

    I shape it

Turning that raw material into a narrative that's clear, memorable, and true to you.

  • 3

    We share it

In whatever form reaches the people you want to reach: a talk, a workshop, a film, a post.

Ethical storytelling

What makes it ethical

Ethical storytelling is more than capturing someone’s story. It’s about understanding the person behind it, respecting their experiences, and making sure their story is shared with care.

  • Every story is different

People from all walks of life may share experiences that resonate with my own challenging background as an adoptee. Every story deserves sensitivity, compassion, and respect.

  • At your own pace

A safe, comfortable space to share your experiences in your own way, without feeling pressured to reveal more than you wish.

  • Care beyond the conversation

That care continues after we talk, with careful thought about how, where, and why your story is shared.

  • Owning your story

I tell stories to encourage others to embrace their own. I’d rather hand someone the microphone than speak for them.

“For a long time, I was made to feel small and told that I would never amount to anything. Today, I believe the opposite: our stories are part of what makes us who we are.”

My story

A human with a story

I grew up in the care system, half South African and half British. Storytelling gave me a voice, and the philosophy of Ubuntu, “I am because we are”, gave this work its name.
